The construction of Galeria Bursztynowa in Ostrołęka to be opened in spring 2014 has entered a new phase. Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm, is the exclusive agent in the commercialization of this development.

The foundation stone for Galeria Bursztynowa was laid in May 2013 and the construction of the scheme is now under way. All the construction work runs according to the investor’s building schedule.

Galeria Bursztynowa is being developed in Gorbatowa and Żebrowskiego streets. It will total around 32,000 sq m of usable space, including nearly 27,000 sq m of retail space to let, and will also provide more than 800 parking spaces. Galeria Bursztynowa, which will house around 60 stores, will be the largest modern shopping centre in Ostrołęka with more than 150,000 potential customers living within its catchment area. The full construction design was prepared by Jacek Zub with the Project Management team of Cushman & Wakefield. Narev Inwestycje is the owner of the scheme.

Roman Tomczak, President of Narev Inwestycje, said: “The shopping and service complex Galeria Bursztynowa will be constructed on a site totalling eight hectares and the building alone will take up around 3.5 ha. The remaining part of the site is planned for roads and parking spaces. Its downtown location enhances the uniqueness and attractiveness of Galeria Bursztynowa. It will be the only such scheme within 120 km, making it a supraregional shopping centre.”

Galeria Bursztynowa will be anchored by a Tesco hypermarket, while the stand-alone building of the complex will be leased by the DIY retailer OBI. Tesco and OBI will take up around 8,000 sq m each.

Tomasz Górski, a senior negotiator from the Retail Department of Cushman & Wakefield, said: “It’s less than a year before the opening of Galeria Bursztynowa, whose construction runs as scheduled. It is one of the most awaited developments in this region. The shopping centre has already been more than 50% let. Talks are well under way with multiple sector tenants and we will soon be able to announce new leases signed.”
