On 10 January Switzerland-origin company Ronal opened a plant in Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. The project was supported by PAIiIZ, therefore, Agency’s president Sławomir Majman attended the opening ceremony.

Ronal is a global player in the aluminium wheel business, present in Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal. The company’s plant in Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone has been designed to produce 2 million wheels per year for such brands as: Fiat, Mercedes, BMW and Opel. The investment costs reached almost PLN 0,5 billion. Ronal was going to hire 350 employees, however more than 430 people have been already employed there.

In Wałbrzych SEZ, such automotive companies as Toyota, Mando, Faurecia, Quin or NSK already operate. Together, they invested more than PLN 4.5 billion and employ nearly 8 000 people. Automotive companies present in WSEZ produce components and parts for both kind of vehicles – passengers cars and trucks.

Currently, PAIiIZ supports 37 investment projects from automotive industry, with a value of €1.363 m , which in the future can create 9484 jobs.
