The second investor in the Szczecin subzone of the special economic zone is commencing its activities. At the end of November the previous year the first bricks were laid, and the ribbon cutting ceremony took place almost ten months later, involving the opening of the symbolic blinds.

The celebration was attended by the Marshal of the Westpomeranian Region, Olgierd Geblewicz.

- HKL Dekoracja Okien is the beneficiary of the Westpomeranian Regional Operational Programme. The company has received a grant for the automation of the manufacturing process, which is often associated with replacing human labour with machines, i. e. limiting employment. It does not always have to be that way, which is being confirmed by HKL which, due to automation, has increased its competitiveness and is hiring more workers. - emphasised the Marshal during the plant opening ceremony.

A year ago the investor was employing 145 people in a rented hall and announced the creation of 50 new jobs after launching production in the new facility. Today the plant on Szymborskiej Street hires 170 people, and 30 more will be recruited in the next few months.

The ribbon cutting was performed by the youngest members of the Dutch and Polish families of the HKL owners. The state-of-the-art manufacturing and office facility, named after Wiktoria, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Krawczyk, occupies an area of nearly 8000 sqm. and its cost amounted to approx. PLN 16 million.
