"After the Volkswagen cars in Września, Ronal Wheels in Wałbrzych SEZ and the expansion of GM in Tychy, it is the fourth major investment of a huge automotive concern this year in Poland", said the PAIiIZ president Sławomir Majman at the inauguration of the newest Michelin investment in Olsztyn. The project was supported by PAIiIZ.

The company has been present in Poland since 1994, when the first branch of Michelin Group in Central and Eastern Europe was established in Warsaw. "During the 20 years that have passed since the opening of the first Michelin office in Warsaw, Poland turned from Cinderella into a belle queen. Today’s celebration confirms the country’s attractiveness, said president Majman. The inauguration ceremony was attended by deputy prime minister, minister of economy Janusz Piechociński.

Currently, the company employs over 4,300 people. Olsztyn plant is joining the Michelin Group as one of the largest centres operated by the company. The plant will produce a new generation of tires for agricultural vehicles. Owing to €103-m-worth project, over 50 people will be employed there.

Michelin Group is a leading world’s manufacturer of tires for cars, lorries, agricultural machinery, aircrafts, bicycles. The company also produces industrial tires and provides travel - related services.
