Panattoni Europe has commenced works to add approx. 21,000 sqm to one of the production halls for Pilkington Automotive Poland. The space will be added onto the already existing 35,000 sqm, built by the developer in 2012. With the new space, the factory in Chmielów, at Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone EURO-PARK WISŁOSAN, will total approx. 90,000 sqm, achieving increased production capacity and making room for new jobs.
Panattoni Europe has embarked on a new mission to extend the automotive glass factory for Pilkington Automotive Poland in Chmielów. This is stage two of the manufacturer's action plan for 2011-2015, which involves the present construction of an additional warehouse and production hall totalling more than 21,000 sqm. Of that, the storage section will take up approx. 15,000 sqm, while circa 5,000 sqm is intended for production, and more than 1,000 sqm will be taken up by offices and staff facilities. The hall will be added to the existing 35,000-square-metre facility (16,700 sqm of warehousing space; 13,500 sqm production hall and 1,600 sqm of office space), developed by Panattoni Europe in August 2012. The developer is planning to complete the extension works next September.
Works that are currently under way in stage two aim to increase the available space of the factory from 60,000 to approx. 90,000 sqm, which will allow the company to boost its production capacity by 50 per cent, and create new jobs - as many as 300 new people will be able to find employment. For Panattoni Europe, this project is more than an extension of an existing space. Comments Robert Dobrzycki, Managing Partner Panattoni Europe: "While working on this investment - of great importance not just for the region, but also for Poland's economy - we have been able to show some of our other competences. The construction went on in quite unusual circumstances, while the plant was in full operation." It is worth adding that the investment found recognition not only in the industry - in 2011 it was named the largest and received an award from the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency PAIiIZ.
