Part of the Nauta Shiprepair Yard has a new owner. The sale of the remaining land is being negotiated. Colliers International has advised on the sale.

Nauta Shiprepair Yard is located in the center of Gdynia at Waszyngtona street. The repair of ships  has been moved to the newly acquired area of former Stocznia Gdynia S.A. At the same time Nauta’s attractive investment land has entered the commercial real estate market. A mixed-use project called Gdynia Waterfront is going to be located there.

“We have decided to divide Nauta’s land into two parts. We have just appointed the investor, who will develop one of them. The post-industrial area will be replaced with the modern urban space, that will change the image of Gdynia city centre. The transaction is a milestone for the Gdynia Waterfront project,” said Emil Domeracki from Colliers International, responsible for the shipyard sale process. He added: “Currently, we are also negotiating the sale of the remaining part of the shipyard with an exclusive investor. The property is in the process of legal and technical analysis.”

8,5 hectare of land which belongs to Nauta Shiprepair Yard is prepared for both residential and commercial projects according to the local land development plan. The architectural plan introduced for the site includes: a shopping centre and a cinema, residential buildings, office space and a hotel located by the coast. The local development plan determines the size of the area for particular use: residential (28,000 sqm), retail (45,000 sqm), office (23,000 sqm), hotel (8,000 sqm). Additionally, parking lots will occupy 35,000 sqm of space. A part of land will also be devoted to warehouse scheme.

“It has taken over a year to prepare the local land development plan for the shipyard. It has been designed in close cooperation with local authorities. Acquiring an investor for the first part of Nauta means that the construction works in Gdynia should start within the next two years,” – said Emil Domeracki of Colliers International.
